Urine mercury concentration self-test
device reagent kit 【Scope of
Application】Applicable to the detection of mercury concentration in human
excreted urine or water. 【Detection
significance】 1) The reason for elevated urinary
mercury is due to ingestion or inhalation of excessive mercury. According to Baidu Baike, mercury entering
the body is mainly excreted through the gastrointestinal tract in the early
stages (6-9 days), with a small amount excreted in urine. In the early stages
of acute mercury poisoning, urine mercury tests can be negative. Afterwards,
it is mainly excreted through urine, and after a large intake, the increase
in urine mercury excretion can last for 3-6 months. According to 360
Encyclopedia, methylmercury is mainly not excreted
through urine. Urine is one of the important pathways for the excretion of
mercury ions. The mercury concentration in urine is closely related to the
mercury concentration in blood. 2) The reason for the increase in
mercury in water is pollution. Mercury is slightly soluble in water and
increases over time. 【Normal value of
urine mercury】The currently known clinical testing methods include: the dithizone test should be ≤ 0.05mg/L, and the protein
precipitation test should be ≤ 0.01mg/L. The reagent
kit of this device uses the copper iodide test paper detection method. When
the detection result is greater than 0.005mg/L, further testing is required
at the hospital. 【Detection
Principle】 Using reagents to convert mercury ions in urine into
mercury vapor composed of mercury ions and free electrons, the concentration
of mercury ions changes color when encountering the test paper. The
concentration of mercury ions is proportional to the mercury spots and areas
formed at the tip of the test paper within a certain range, thus conducting
visual semi quantitative analysis. Detection limit: 0.003 mg/L, linear range:
0.003~0.1 mg/L. 【Measurement Steps】 1) Use tweezers to take one piece of test paper and insert it
into the conical tube. Insert the conical tube into the circular hole of the
conical plug and tighten it; 2) Take 50ml of the sample into a reaction flask, add a tube
of tartaric acid, and gently shake a few times; 3) Put
a gas producing tablet into the reaction bottle, immediately insert the
conical plug with a test strip into the mouth of the reaction bottle, tighten
it, and start timing; 4) After
waiting for 30 minutes, take out the test strip and compare the color spots
on the test strip with the control color card to find the same or similar
color levels. The value marked next to the color level is the mercury
concentration in the sample, mg/L. 【Precautions】 1) Operate in a ventilated environment.
In the process of gas production reaction, individual urine samples may
produce more foam, so soak the test paper. In this case, 5 drops of defoamer can be added before adding the gas production
tablet. Generally, defoamer is not necessary. 2) The test strip contains trace
amounts of cuprous iodide, which may cause skin allergies in individuals with
allergies. Wear gloves during testing and use tweezers to take and place test
strips. The tested sample can be disposed of as normal waste. 【Equipment configuration】15 gas producing
tablets, 15 tartaric acid, and 15 test strips each, 1 reaction bottle,
conical stopper, tweezers, defoamer, color card
each, and 3 conical tubes. Produced by
